Thomas Wright
Tom joined Taylor Hampton in April 2021 as a paralegal within the media team. Having studied media law at university, Tom has a particular interest in defamation and privacy law.
Tom graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) degree before being awarded a Distinction by the University of East Anglia (UEA) for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Media Law, Policy and Practice. Subsequently, he obtained a scholarship from the UEA Law School to undertake PhD research examining the effects of the Defamation Act 2013.
During his postgraduate studies Tom has worked as an Associate Tutor at UEA, teaching Tort Law to undergraduates and lecturing on media law to postgraduate broadcast journalism and media students.
Prior to joining the firm Tom completed a Legal Internship at JUSTICE where he worked on understanding how access to legal advice had changed during the pandemic and JUSTICE’s response to the government’s Independent Human Rights Act Review.
